1. Email a brief description of issues and possible times convenient for a telephone contact. Telephone consultations will generally be around 45 minutes or an hour but it will be most convenient for appointment scheduling if it is assumed that a phone contact might last as long as 90 minutes.
2. Wait for a response. If no response in 48 hours, re-email. I wade through 1.5K emails daily, deleting almost every one. It is often the case that an unexpected email gets accidentally deleted. Please forgive this imposition - re-send your email. 3. If the response is positive, you will be sent an email that will include a url to a payments page, a series of personal information questions (e.g., name, address, DOB), a phone number to call and an appointment time. Calls can be made through regular telephone lines or Skype. Once an appointment time is set and agreed on, the individual seeking consultation will be expected to call and pay for the call. 4. No emergencies allowed. Because of the logistics of telephone consultations, the caller accepts the responsibility to contact local resources in case of any emergency situations. Emergency phone calls will immediately be referred to authorities in the caller's locale. The caller is expected to accept the reponsibility to make use of local authorities and emergency services if any emergency situation emerges. 5. No insurance coverage. Though most medical insurance does cover the services of a clinical psychologist for in-office visits, it is rare that any insurance would cover phone contacts. Even when it does, it is virtually always limited to only a minimal coverage of ten minutes maximum per week. Because of this, unless arrangements are made for payments to be made by check or other means, it would be appreciated if phone consultations could be paid for in cash, either prior to or immediately after phone contact, using the links provided. Using these links will result in a receipt but an additional receipt can also be obtained on request. If you really feel a strong need to consult, email consultations are not charged for. 6. Charges for services. Charges are $150.00 per hour, $37.50 per quarter hour or part thereof. Arrangements can be made to pay by check or money order but there are already links set up that will accept credit card payments and provide a receipt. 7. Inability to pay. I have a great deal of sympathy for those struggling to find services without the resources to obtain them. I try my best to make psychological information, solutions and ideas available via articles, via my hypnosis recordings and via email exchanges. Though you might need to re-send an email if it is missed because of the potential for accidental deletion, I do make an effort to answer all serious (non-spam, non-sales) emails. |
